Check the route from the dock to the final spot, including any tight corners, since the unit arrives as one skid.

Work from the water flow you need. Two plates deliver about 7.2 GPM, three about 10.8 GPM and four about 14.4 GPM, with cooling capacity rising in the same steps. If you are between counts, take the larger one, because a cabinet running close to its rating holds outlet temperature better when load spikes.

It covers steady draws and short peaks well. Where the process pulls a large volume at once, such as filling a kettle or a batch mixer, the tank can empty faster than the plates refill it. Tell us the largest single draw and how often it happens, and we will check whether added storage is needed.

R-717 is one of the listed refrigerants, alongside R-404A, R-448A, R-449A and R-454C. Ammonia plants usually feed the chiller flooded or recirculated, both of which this cabinet supports. Give us the suction temperature available at the chiller location and the feed method, since both shape the capacity you will see.

Enough capacity at the suction temperature to match the plate count you choose, from 43,000 BTU/hr on two plates to 87,000 BTU/hr on four. The chiller is the evaporator only, so the compressor and condenser must be rated at the same conditions. Mismatches here are what usually leave a small chiller short of it's leaving water target.

Once the flow passes what four plates can deliver, or the growth plan already points beyond it. The 3x3 has no room past four plates, so a second cabinet or a move to 3x5 becomes the next step. If the floor can take the larger footprint now, buying the 3x5 avoids running two small units later.
