A Plate Exchanger Is Designed to Be Maintained
The whole point of a gasketed frame is that it opens. Gaskets are consumables, plates can be cleaned and inspected, and the pack can be expanded when the duty grows. None of that is a weakness; it is the reason the technology has lasted.
What turns that into an advantage is planning. Trending approach temperature or overall coefficient tells you when a unit needs attention far more reliably than a calendar, and most plants that adopt it end up servicing less often with better availability.
Parts Come From the Nameplate
Plates and gaskets are model and pattern specific. Two plates that look identical across a workshop bench are frequently different parts, and fitting the wrong one produces a pack that will not seal and cannot be diagnosed by eye.
Photograph the nameplate and send it with the enquiry. The serial number is the reliable route to an accurate parts list and it takes a fraction of the time that measuring does.
Engineering Before the Order, Not After
Every unit is rated against your actual conditions before it is quoted. Where the rating shows a poor configuration, a velocity outside the useful band or a pressure drop the system cannot deliver, we would rather say so and propose an alternative than quote what was asked for.
That includes recommending a different construction, and occasionally recommending against a purchase entirely.
