Parts & Gaskets

Check purchase records, the original drawing or an old parts invoice, since any of them may carry the serial number. Failing that, send photographs of a plate front and back, the frame with a tape measure accross it, and the port arrangement. We can usually narrow the family down from those, though it takes longer, and we confirm the identification with you before anything is ordered.

The nameplate straight on and in focus, the whole unit from the side so frame length and plate count show, one plate held up to the light, and a close view of a gasket in its groove. Those images give us the family, the attachment style and the general condition. Add a line on why the parts are needed, because a leak and a capacity problem lead to different lists.

When plates are being replaced, a full gasket set normally goes with them. New plates pressed against aged gaskets compress unevenly, and the pack weeps at the old seals. If you are only renewing gaskets, look over the plates while the pack is open, so any cracked or pitted ones can join the same order instead of forcing a second shutdown.

A complete gasket set, a few plates of each pattern in the pack, and the end plates, which carry different gaskets from the rest. Tie bolt nuts and washers cost little and are worth adding. Look over stored gaskets yearly for cracking or tackiness, and rotate the set into service at the next opening so shelf stock never grows old.

Only if both carry the same plate model, pattern and gasket attachment, and overall size does not tell you that. Two frames of similar length can hold different plate families with different groove profiles. Give us both serial numbers and we will say which parts are common, which lets a site with several units hold one shared spares stock.
