Description
The AT80 is a gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchanger from the Mueller Accu-Therm series, built around a 85" x 36" plate on a 6" port. Cold and hot streams alternate through gasketed channels formed by chevron-corrugated plates, which drives turbulence at low flow and gives approach temperatures in the 1°F to 3°F range that a shell and tube cannot reach. The frame accepts plate packs from 34-5/8" - 160-5/8", covering roughly 181 - 4,186 sq ft of heat transfer surface at about 6.25 square feet per plate. Rated flow is up to 1800 GPM of water. Standard construction is 316 stainless plates with nitrile or EPDM gaskets in a painted carbon steel frame, and the pack expands in the field as duty grows. Available frame styles: B Frame - for larger units, plates hang from the upper guide bar; capacity to 900 plates; LB Frame - extended beam frame for long plate packs; RB Frame - beam frame variant (Mueller frame-type designation).
