Description
AT402DW is the double-wall configuration of the Mueller Accu-Therm AT402 frame. Each heat transfer wall is built from two identical plates nested together and fully welded at the port locations, and the resulting pair installs in the frame exactly as a single plate would. If either sheet is penetrated, fluid escapes to the edge of the pair rather than crossing into the opposite stream, where it is visible for immediate detection. That makes the configuration the standard choice where cross-contamination is unacceptable: potable water heating, transformer and lubricating oil cooling, quench oil, and acid duty. Plate dimensions are 39-1/4" by 27" on 4" / 6" ports, plate packs run 20-1/2" - 159-1/2", and the frame covers about 16 - 106 sq ft of surface. Water flow reaches roughly 1150 GPM. The second wall costs only a small amount of thermal efficiency versus the single-wall AT402.
