Description

AT55DW is the double-wall configuration of the Mueller Accu-Therm AT55 frame. Each heat transfer wall is built from two identical plates nested together and fully welded at the port locations, and the resulting pair installs in the frame exactly as a single plate would. If either sheet is penetrated, fluid escapes to the edge of the pair rather than crossing into the opposite stream, where it is visible for immediate detection. That makes the configuration the standard choice where cross-contamination is unacceptable: potable water heating, transformer and lubricating oil cooling, quench oil, and acid duty. Plate dimensions are 77-1/2" by 18-1/2" on 4" ports, plate packs run 33-7/8" - 159-7/8", and the frame covers about 80 - 1,600 sq ft of surface. Water flow reaches roughly 800 GPM. The second wall costs only a small amount of thermal efficiency versus the single-wall AT55.
