Mueller 706 FFC

706 FFC specifications

Description

The 706 FFC is a Mueller falling film chiller with a 706 gallon integral reservoir, built on 4 x 8 foot Temp-Plate evaporator panels in the L cabinet. Water is distributed across the top of the plates and falls in a thin film down the outside faces while refrigerant evaporates inside, so the water is never confined in a tube or channel. That is the design's central advantage: there is no pressure vessel on the water side to freeze and split, the unit can be run right down to the freezing point without a freeze-protection safety margin, and the plates stay accessible for inspection and cleaning. Leaving water reaches 34°F without freezing; glycol is required below that. The cabinet holds 2 - 24 plates and measures 104.5" by 105.875" by 90.75", with a shipping weight near 7705 pounds. Design conditions are 250 PSI at 200°F with a 331 PSIG test and -20°F MDMT. Refrigerants are ammonia R-717, R-507, or legacy R-22; glycol plates are offered as an alternative to direct refrigerant. Connections are tri-clamp to pipe thread adapters in 2, 4, and 6 inch.
