Note: the unit pictured is representative of the standard build and may not exactly depict p/n FFC-4-3x5 as shown on this page.
FFC-4-3x5 is the tankless configuration of the Mueller falling film chiller: 4 3 x 5 foot Temp-Plate evaporator panels in a stainless cabinet with no integral reservoir, discharging into a customer-supplied tank or directly into a process loop. Plants that already have chilled water storage use this version to add refrigeration capacity without buying tankage twice. Water falls as a thin film over the outside of the plates while refrigerant evaporates inside, which keeps the water side at atmospheric pressure and lets the unit chill to 34°F without freeze risk. The line accepts incoming fluid over 80°F without a secondary heat exchanger ahead of it. Design conditions are 250 PSI at 200°F with a 331 PSIG test. Refrigerants are ammonia R-717 or R-507, with glycol plates available.
